Is AI changing the way we talk?

Have you ever read something that felt empty and linear, lacking emotion? It might have been generated by AI. One of the most significant uses of LLMs today is content analysis and generation, whether it’s answering questions, composing emails, or writing articles.

Humans are shaped by their environment and learn through experiences. When we interact, we convey emotions, intentions, and unique nuances that reflect our personality and life stories. This leads us to the question:

Do AIs reflect us?

The clear answer is NO. No matter how much we instruct them to respond in a certain "tone" they will never do it the same way we would as individuals. The problem is that we risk losing the essence of who we are. The key will be to find a balance, leveraging AI's efficiency without sacrificing our humanity and creativity.

While LLMs like GPT or Gemini have been essential tools for content creation or as email response assistants, it's crucial to maintain the human essence that makes each of us unique. Here are some tips about how to use AI responsibly and transparently, so we can incorporate its benefits without losing our identity.

Start by adding personal anecdotes related to the topic. This brings authenticity and a unique perspective. Write in your voice and style, including expressions and phrases you habitually use, making the text sound more natural. Add your opinions and feelings on the topic, making the content more human and resonant.

Review and edit the generated text to align it with your way of thinking and writing, changing words, reordering sentences, and adjusting the content. Incorporate specific details about people, places, and events you know personally to add realism and depth. Use metaphors and analogies that feel natural to you and that you use in your daily life, making the text more accessible and relatable.

Engage your readers with rhetorical questions, showing your reasoning and reflection on the topic. If appropriate, add a touch of humor (something I often do) with funny comments or amusing anecdotes to make the text more engaging and memorable.

Cite personal and real sources when mentioning information or ideas discussed with friends, colleagues, or family, adding credibility and a personal connection to the content. With these adjustments, you can ensure that texts generated by LLMs feel authentic and reflect your personality and experience.

Summarizing, incorporating AI into our writing processes can greatly enhance efficiency, but it’s essential to preserve our human touch. By blending AI-generated content with personal anecdotes, unique voices, and genuine emotions, we can create richer, more engaging texts. This approach not only leverages the power of AI but also ensures that our individuality and creativity shine through. Striking this balance will allow us to use AI responsibly, maintaining the authenticity and depth that only human writers can provide.
